PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
AFFORDABLE HOUSING (19 April 2004)
Motion Details
That this House notes the continuing rise in house prices across the United Kingdom and the knock-on effect this has on first time buyers and those on low incomes in being able to afford property; further notes the large number of housing developments and in particular the number of housing estates which do not include affordable housing; and calls on the Government to ensure that in the future all local authorities allocate at least 25 per cent. of land available for housing for affordable housing stock so that millions of people are not excluded from the housing market.
