PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
STRICTER SENTENCES FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY (19 April 2004)

Motion Details

That this House notes the increasing number of cases of cruelty to animals coming before the courts in Northern Ireland; also notes that in one recent case a resident magistrate complained that he was unable to impose a more strict sentence; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to review the sentences and penalties available to the courts to deal with this type of crime.
