PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
COASTAL DEFENCES (13 November 2002)

Motion Details

That this House notes the severe problems caused by coastal erosion and that current coastal defence funding, based on urgency, urbanisation and cost/benefit analysis, does not help to channel funds where they are most needed; and calls on the Government, in reviewing coastal defence funding, to implement the current moves towards recognising social infrastructure issues in rural as well as urban areas and to ensure that funding is sufficient to meet the requirements of all operating authorities.
