PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CHESHAM BOIS POST OFFICE (23 January 2003)

Motion Details

That this House deplores the decision by Post Office Ltd to close Chesham Bois post office; notes that although the post office in Amersham is only one mile away from Chesham Bois, many constituents of the honourable Member for Chesham and Amersham who currently use Chesham Bois post office will now have to travel considerably more than one mile to their nearest post office; and urges the Government to prevent further blight on the post office network by strengthening the structure of consultations to allow communities like Chesham Bois to put forward alternative management plans to allow sub-post offices to remain open and continue to serve the community.
