PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PENSION PROVISION (16 December 2002)

Motion Details

That this House expresses concern that final salary pension schemes are closing at an alarming rate; notes that more than half are now closed to new members; further notes that 12 million workers now have no personal occupational pension provision; further notes that the savings ratio is now at 3.7 per cent. its lowest level since records began; and calls on the Government to restore incentives for people to save for their retirement.
