Motion Details

That this House notes with concern the imminent closure of the UK's last new traction build facilities at Alstom, Preston; recognises the loss of highly skilled labour and the loss of UK technology and production facilities in train manufacturing; and calls on the Government to enter into discussions with the Alstom group, to see whether the Government can be of any assistance in alleviating the problems that will arise as a result of the closure.
