PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Transfer of Housing Stock by Councils (29 November 1989)

That this House notes the attempt by various councils to transfer the ownership of council housing without ensuring that the tenants are given the resources necessary to employ independent advice; notes that the National Consumers' Council believes the rights being offered in the London Borough of Redbridge and in Swale, Canterbury, Broadlands, Mid Sussex and North Bedfordshire District Council may be unenforcable in law; and further insists that the Government informs the tenants of the risks involved.
