PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
GRANDPARENTS AND PARENTING SKILLS (19 May 2003)

That this House recognises the important role that grandparents can play in bringing up children and ensuring that good parenting skills are transferred between generations; believes that children benefit from continued contact with members of their wider family, whilst noting that their safety is of paramount importance; calls on the Government to comprehensively review the procedures through which grandparents apply for contact with their grandchildren through the courts; and congratulates the Telford based Grandparents' Action Group on the positive and constructive work they are doing in this area.
