PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Salaries of Speech Therapists (28 November 1989)

Motion Details

That this House is concerned at the inadequate provision of speech therapy in the National Health Service; finds it absurd that expensively trained speech therapists are leaving the profession because of low salaries; believes that the lack of reasonable remuneration for this group of highly skilled professionals is probably due to the fact that they are a largely female profession; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to ask their representatives on the Whitley Council management side to significantly increase their current offer of 6.5 per cent.
