Motion Details

That this House calls on the Prime Minister to raise with the President of South Korea, during his visit, the case of Yo Un-jin, a 23 year old student and prisoner of conscience arrested by security police for peaceful political activities and adopted by the Grimsby Board of Amnesty International as their contribution to the effort to highlight the plight of prisoners of conscience in South Korea; and urges the Prime Minister to put to the President of South Korea in the strongest terms the need to release all prisoners of conscience in the Republic, to end detention without trial and to insist on the rights proclaimed in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
