PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MID TERM REVIEW AND UNSUPPORTED CROPS (11 June 2003)

Motion Details

That this House notes the concern of fruit and vegetable growers who do not receive production subsidies that the European Commission's current proposals to reform the Common Agricultural Policy would place the growers of unsupported crops at risk of unfair competition from business with entitlement to subsidy; and calls upon the Government to publish a detailed assessment of the impact of the Commission's proposals on the unsupported crops sector and to make clear what action it is taking to ensure that growers who have competed in the market place without subsidy are treated fairly in the mid term review.
