BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION WEAR RED CAMPAIGN (8 June 2003)
Motion Details
That this House commends the British Heart Foundation 'Wear Red' Campaign highlighting the plight of children born with major heart defects; urges national support for Heart Week on 7th to 15th June to raise funds to develop a network of specialist paediatric liaison nurses across the UK to provide a lifeline for many patients and their families, helping and enabling them to enjoy a good quality of life; notes that the survival rate for children born with major heart defects has gone from one child in five in 1961 to four in five today; and commends the work of both the British Heart Foundation and the National Health Service for this improvement.
