PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Training for Housing: LHATS (24 November 1989)
Motion Details
That this House notes with concern the threatened closure of the London Housing Associations Training Scheme, which currently provides 5, 000 places each year and which will affect 40 per cent. of housing associations in England; is appalled by the increasing levels of homelessness in London and welcomes the Government's recent announcement of a partial improvement in housing investment; acknowledges the major role played by the London Housing Associations Training Scheme in training Housing Association staff; and, in view of the context of the recent government report, Training in Britain, believes that Her Majesty's Government should take immediate steps to safeguard the future funding of the London Housing Associations Training Scheme, in the long term interests of an effective housing policy for this country.
