PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Ambulance Dispute (23 November 1989)

Motion Details

That this House recognises that the ambulance workers' claim is fully justified and should be met in full; believes that the actions of the Secretary of State for Health in trying to use police and armed forces to break the dispute is a dangerous and cruel deception; further recognises that the ambulance workers are determined to maintain the 999 service and are prevented from doing this by management actions alone; and demands that the army and police be withdrawn at once so that experienced and qualified ambulance personnel can once again provide an emergency service.
