PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LICENSING OF HOUSES IN MULTIPLE OCCUPATION (19 June 2001)
Motion Details
That this House welcomes the Houses in Multiple Occuation (Registration Scheme) Bill introduced in the last Parliament by a cross-party group of honourable Members from the All-Party Warm Homes Group; notes that this would require the establishment of a licensing and registration scheme for houses in multiple occupation which would include requirements for energy efficiency; notes too that it is essential to deal with houses in multiple occupation in order to end fuel poverty and reduce wastage of energy; and therefore hopes that such a registration scheme will be established as a matter of urgency.
