PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
FOOTBALL AGENTS (19 June 2001)
Motion Details
That this House believes the involvement of agents for professional football players is not in the best interests of the game; considers that there should be a public register detailing the names of agents, their clients and the fees and commissions paid so that there is transparency in what is going on; and due to the failure of the football authorities to regulate the activities of such agents, calls on the Government to hold a thorough investigation into the role of football agents in professional football.
