PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Compensation for Haemophiliacs (21 November 1989)
Motion Details
That this House, noting the widespread concern for haemophiliacs infected with the AIDS virus through contaminated National Health Service blood transfusions, believes that this exceptional tragedy requires an exceptional response; warns the Government that merely topping up the Macfarlane Trust would leave haemophiliacs dependent on inadequate charitable money without the security and dignity they desire and deserve; and calls upon the Government to provide full and immediate ex-gratia compensation.
