PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LAND MINES ALONG THE INDIA-PAKISTAN BORDER (15 January 2002)

That this House condemns the deployment of anti-personnel land mines by India and Pakistan along the border of their countries; affirms the right of citizens on both sides to live securely within their borders without incursion across the line of control; and urges both governments to sign the 1997 Ottawa Mine Ban Treaty and to clear those areas where mines have been laid for the benefit and safety of future generations.
