PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
TAXATION OF SMALL BUSINESSES (30 April 2002)

Motion Details

That this House notes with concern that changes to business taxation in the Budget are likely to lead to large numbers of self-employed people registering themselves as limited companies; notes that independent experts say this is likely to cost the Exchequer hundreds of millions of pounds whilst leading to a significant increase in the time small businesses spend on paperwork; and calls on the Government to reduce the tax burden for all small businesses regardless of their legal status.
