PROPOSED STEEL AND METAL SKILLS COUNCIL (30 April 2002)

Motion Details

That this House recognises the importance of achieving highly skilled steel and metal industries for the United Kingdom economy; welcomes the Government's commitment to improving the skills level of all employees as represented by the recently published report, Developing Workforce Skills: Piloting a New Approach; and calls on the departments for Education and Skills and of Trade and Industry to establish a steel and metal skills council at the earliest opportunity.
