PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
WEMBLEY STADIUM (30 April 2002)

Motion Details

That this House regrets that the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport has not informed Parliament whether the contracts for the rebuilding of Wembley Stadium have been finalised as she indicated last December would happen by the end of April; deplores the fact that one and a half years after the closure of Wembley Stadium there is no firm timetable for its reopening; and condemns the Government's handling of the project over the past five years which has made Britain a laughing stock in international sporting circles.
