MONKEYS AS PETS (25 June 2002)

Motion Details

That this House calls upon Her Majesty's Government to seek changes in the law to bring an end to the keeping of all monkeys as pets; believes that the welfare of monkeys cannot be properly protected by private owners; welcomes the work of both the Monkey Sanctuary Trust in Cornwall and the RSPCA to improve and protect the welfare of all captive monkeys; and calls for the necessary legislative changes to be brought in forthwith.
