PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
AIRPORT PROPOSALS FOR COVENTRY AND WARWICKSHIRE (14 October 2002)
Motion Details
That this House believes that the proposals for a new airport in Warwickshire and any expansion to Coventry airport would have a disastrous effect on the environment, create major traffic problems for our roads, be the source of noise pollution, have very serious consequences for the quality of life for the citizens of Coventry and Warwickshire and bespoil for ever one of the most beautiful parts of England; and therefore calls on the Government to reject these proposals as soon as the consultation period is over and to examine other options, bearing in mind the Government's own environmental policies, so that the anxieties and emotional traumas caused to the citizens of these areas can be removed as soon as possible.
