PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
A LEVEL EXAMINATION MARKS (23 September 2002)

Motion Details

That this House notes the widespread distress and confusion caused to this year's 'A' level candidates by the arbitrary and unfair marks given to some of their work; expresses its sympathy to the pupils, parents, and teachers involved; notes that the Government's interference with the exam system has led to this year's chaos and confusion; asks Ministers to publish full information about all the Department for Education and Skills' contacts with exam bodies over the relevant period; and further asks Ministers to take their proper responsibility for the damage done to young people and the exam system.
