PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Coal Mining Subsidence (16 January 1990)
Motion Details
That this House views as totally inadequate the current procedures by which British Coal repairs the damage to or compensates people whose homes, properties, businesses and services have been damaged by coal mining subsidence; calls for fair and effective systems to be introduced, as recommended by the Waddilove Committee as long ago as 1984; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make clear its intention to introduce immediately necessary legislation to establish proper mechanisms to ensure fair and equitable repair and compensation of such damaged properties.
