PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
FOOD SUPPLEMENTS DIRECTIVE (25 November 2004)

Motion Details

That this House notes with great concern the Government's continuing failure to take a proactive role in negotiations over the implementation of the Food Supplements Directive; expresses its grave disquiet that many vitamins and minerals in common use are set to become illegal even though the authorities have raised no concerns about their safety; further believes that such a development will deny consumer choice and put many businesses at risk purely to achieve harmonisation across the EU; and calls on the Government to act quickly and effectively in defence of British producers and consumers of minerals and vitamins.
