FREE TV LICENCES FOR ALL PENSIONERS (1 March 2001)
Motion Details
That this House notes that currently all pensioners aged 75 years and over receive free television licences and congratulates the Chancellor on this reform; further notes that while pensioners aged 75 years and over benefit from a saving of ú102 a year all other pensioners still pay for a televiion licence; recognises that there are many differing rates of television licences for pensioners; and calls on the Government to introduce free television licences for all pensioners ending all current anomalies ensuring fairness for all pensioners.
