PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ARCTIC CONVOY MEDAL (27 February 2001)
Motion Details
That this House commends the bravery of the men who served on the Russian convoys during the Second World War in appalling conditions and great danger both from enemy action and the extremely hostile environment; remembers that next year is the sixtieth anniversary of the first of these convoys, Dervish; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to invite the Committee on the Grant of Honours, Decorations and Medals to reconsider its policy and to issue a medal to recognise the very significant role these brave men played in the defeat of fascism.
