FIREWORK SAFETY (6 December 1999)
Motion Details
That this House supports the Government's actions in the Fireworks (Safety) Regulations 1997; calls upon the Government to further tighten legislation on the sale of fireworks; notes the injuries and harassment caused to people and animals by the misuse of the fireworks; and urges the Government to allow local councils to limit the sale of fireworks to a period decided by the local authority in consultation with the local community.
