PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BURNS INQUIRY INTO HUNTING WITH DOGS (8 February 2000)
Motion Details
That this House expresses its concern over the structure and membership of the Committee of Inquiry into hunting with dogs; acknowledges that committee members might be experts in their own fields, but lack expertise in wild life ecology and wild animal welfare; further notes with concern the alleged close links with hunting in respect of Professor Michael Winter, Lord Soulsby and Sir John Marsh; and calls upon the Home Secretary to review the membership of the Committee to ensure it is genuinely independent and impartial.
