PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CONNEX SOUTH EASTERN (25 January 2000)

Motion Details

That this House expresses sympathy to travellers of Connex South Eastern who have to endure one of the most infrequent and unreliable commuter services in London; is appalled that Connex has slashed some services by half during non-peak periods on the north Kent line, London to Dartford via Greenwich service, providing passengers with only two trains per hour, as well as withdrawing some peak hour services, resulting in a worse service than before Connex was awarded the franchise; notes that the four trains per hour service had only been maintained through the goodwill of drivers who were prepared to work on their rest days; calls upon Connex South Eastern to recruit and train additional drivers to restore services that have been cut; and calls on the Secretary of State and the Regulator to conduct an urgent investigation into the poor quality service in South East London and take steps to remedy the situation.
