PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LINDANE (10 January 2000)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the pesticide Lindane is banned in Sweden, the Netherlands, Japan, New Zealand and a range of other countries but is still widely and legally used in Britain, that Lindane is used as a pesticide on farms in Britain, that products containing Lindane are approved for sale for domestic use, including ant killer and moth killer and that Lindane is classified by the World Health Organisation as a possible human carcinogen; and calls on the Government to follow the example of several other countries and ban the use of Lindane in this country.
