SPORT IN SCHOOLS (7 December 1999)

Motion Details

That this House notes with concern the statistics in the Adidas, Sport Uncovered, report showing a considerable increase in the cases of childhood obesity; further notes the decline in sporting participation among young people with more than 75 per cent. not voluntarily participating; and urges the Government to make weekly physical education part of the core curriculum and to establish a committee to discuss the extent of such activity and to promote sport in school.
