PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CIGARETTES AND ALCOHOL (16 March 2000)
Motion Details
That this House calls for urgent action to be taken to halt the serious problem of bootlegging of alcohol and tobacco, which is putting many independent retailers out of business, with average losses of around 16 per cent. a year; notes that bootlegging has serious health and social costs which arise from minors having unregulated access to alcohol and tobacco; and calls on all members of the European Union to take urgent steps to halt this illegal and harmful trade.
