PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SILICONE BREAST IMPLANTS (1 March 2000)
Motion Details
That this House notes with concern reported cases of silicone poisoning due to the rupture of silicone breast implants; calls for better pre-operative information regarding the health risks and financial implications of silicone breast implant surgery; calls for the publication of all research projects by the National Breast Implant Registry which may identify any problem areas with particular types of implants; calls for increased investigation into implant related adverse incidents reported to the Medical Devices Agency Adverse Incident Centre; and urges the Government fully to investigate studies which examine the reported symptoms and effects of the leaking of silicone due to the rupture of implants.
