PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CLEY AND SALTHOUSE SEA DEFENCES (29 February 2000)

Motion Details

That this House notes the concerns of Cley and Salthouse residents over delays in constructing the sea defence bank; applauds the efforts of local residents, parish councils, other local elected representatives and other bodies such as the Norfolk Wildlife Trust to get the project underway; calls on the Environment Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to make every effort to ensure that construction work can start as soon as possible this summer; and further calls on the Government to re-double its efforts to tackle climate changes so as to reduce the threat to coastal areas from consequent rising sea levels.
