MARINE CONSERVATION (17 February 2000)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society on their publication, Chasing Dolphins; notes with concern its documentation of the increasing harassment of marine mammals by pleasure boats; particularly wetbikes; draws attention to the need for comprehensive measures to ensure conservation in the marine environment; and calls upon the Government to introduce legislation enabling local authorities to create exclusion zones for the protection of marine wildlife as soon as possible.
