PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ADMISSION OF MIKE TYSON (17 May 2000)

Motion Details

That this House regrets the Home Secretary's decision to admit Mike Tyson for a second fight to be staged in Glasgow in spite of the overwhelming opposition of Scottish public opinion; regrets the Home Secretary's explanation that substantial revenue lost to the UK economy is a reason for this decision, putting profit over principle; and insists that this decision must be accompanied by a condemnation of crimes of violence, particularly against women.
