NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK 2000 (14 May 2000)

Motion Details

That this House notes that it is National Volunteers Week from 1st to 7th June; welcomes the work being done during the week to recognise and reward the contribution the 22 million volunteers in the United Kingdom make to the nation's quality of life; congratulates the National Centre for Volunteering, the National Association of Volunteer Bureaux, the Northern Ireland Development Agency, Volunteer Development Scotland and the Wales Council for Voluntary Action for marking this week for the 14th year; and urges the Government to support volunteering as an important source of citizenship and community wellbeing.
