leave out from 'welcomes' to end and insert 'the retention of control by the Liberal Democrats of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, and the reduction of the Labour Group to its smallest size for years; and deeply regrets that accusations without any basis of fact have now been made by the disappointed losers that serve only to diminish respect for service in local government.'.
