PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
AID TO ETHIOPIA (17 April 2000)
Motion Details
That this House, whilst regretting the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea, is concerned by reports of potential famine in Ethiopia, which will result in the deaths of a great many people, including children; regrets the slow response of the international community to the crisis; calls upon Her Majesty's Government greatly to increase the food aid it is providing to the people of Ethiopia; and urges the Secretary of State for International Development to do her utmost to persuade the European Union to do likewise.
