PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CONDUCT OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR WOKINGHAM (No. 2) (23 October 2000)
Motion Details
That this House expresses concern at the behaviour of the Right Honourable Member for Wokingham who issued a press release entitled Conservative News in which he states 'The news that Nissan will not invest in the new Micra in Sunderland is another body blow for the British motor industry'; notes that the decision where to build the new Micra has not been made, and that his inaccurate statement has caused unnecessary anxiety amongst thousands of North East workers and their families; and calls on the Right honourable Member for Wokingham to issue a statement giving a full apology to the company and the people of the North East and pledge his support to the winning of the new contract.
