PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Conduct of Certain Hon. Members (5 December 1989)
Motion Details
Leave out from "House" to end and add, "congratulates the Royal College of Surgeons on an excellent and informative presentation for honourable Members on the work of the College and matters of current public concern; notes that the College showed greater sympathy and understanding for honourable Members who were unable to attend at the last minute due to illness or pressure of work than has been shown by Conservative honourable Members whose petty and partisan criticism ignores apologies that had been tendered as well as the absence of the honourable Members for Hexham, Wyre Forest, Harlow, Gedling, Delyn and Maidstone from the presentation and the fleeting nature of some Conservative attendances; regrets the embarrassment caused to the Royal College of Surgeons by Conservative honourable Members; and calls on them to treat Health Service issues with greater seriousness and concern.".
