ANTISEMITISM IN RUSSIA (9 December 1998)
Motion Details
That this House notes the recent surge of anti-semitism in Russia involving a series of attacks on Rabbis and synagogues; condemns the anti-semitic outbursts by a member of the Russian parliament, Albert Makashov; condemns those 121 members of the Russian Communist Party who failed to vote for a motion censuring Makashov's harsh abusive statements and incitement to racism; and calls for Her Majesty's Government to put political pressure on the leadership of Russia to denounce any form of racial hatred and to take appropriate action towards Makashov.
