PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
HUNTING WILD MAMMALS (24 November 1998)
Motion Details
That this House believes that hunting wild mammals with dogs is cruel and barbaric and has no place in a modern Britain; acknowledges that almost two thirds of honourable and Right honourable Members from all sides of the House supported the Wild Mammals (Hunting with Dogs) Bill in the last parliamentary session; condemns the undemocratic tactics used at that time to thwart the clearly expressed will of the House and the British people; views the abolition of the voting rights of hereditary peers as a key milestone on the road to a ban on hunting; and calls upon the Government to help ensure that hunting wild mammals with dogs is outlawed as soon as it is legislatively possible to do so.
