PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
RESIDENTIAL OUTDOOR EDUCATION (3 March 1999)

Motion Details

That this House recognises the enormous contribution that residential experience and outdoor education make to the personal and social development of young people; is aware that provision for outdoor education, training and recreation is under a great deal of pressure; is concerned that this will have a negative effect on provision for those sectors of society who can least afford it; welcomes the possibility of funding through the New Opportunities Fund; recognises that this will not be enough; and urges Her Majesty's Government to make further Lottery funds available to ensure that all young people are able to experience the benefits.
