AGE LIMITS ON HEALTH CARE (15 February 1999)
Motion Details
That this House is concerned that the rationing of NHS treatment on the basis of age is becoming more widespread, especially with regard to hip replacements, breast cancer treatment, stroke and cardiac rehabiliation; believes that healthcare should not be denied or delayed on the basis of age; welcomes Age Concern's investigation into this matter; and urges the Department of Health to set up an inquiry to assess the extent of age discrimination in the National Health Service.
