PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PENSIONS AND THE ARMED FORCES (18 May 1999)

Motion Details

That this House acknowledges the unique role of British servicemen and women currently deployed on hazardous operational tasks in the Balkans, the Middle East and elsewhere; recognises Parliament's responsibility for protecting the well-being of those who are prepared to lay down their lives in the service of this country; accepts its duty to ensure that adequacy of service and war pensions and benefits; and therefore urges the Government to require the Secretary of State for Defence to report annually on service pensions, war disablement pensions and war widows' and widowers' pensions.
