ROYAL COMMISSION ON VIVISECTION (28 April 1999)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates the Sunday People on its campaign for a Royal Commission on vivisection; congratulates the Government on progress to date with respect to testing for cosmetic, alcohol and tobacco products; urges the Government to fulfil the pre-election pledge in Labour's 'New Life for Animals' document to support a Royal Commission to review the effectiveness and justification of animal experiments, and to examine alternatives; and further suggests the Animal Procedures Committee from the basis of a Standing Royal Commission.
