PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
RATIFICATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT TREATY (18 April 1999)

Motion Details

That this House notes that 80 states, including the United Kingdom, have signed the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court; welcomes the recent ratification by Senegal and Trinidad and Tobago of the statute; notes that Belgium, France, Italy and members of the Caribbean community are at an advanced stage in the ratification process; would be among the first 60 states to ratify the statute; and urges Her Majesty's Government to begin all necessary inter-departmental consultations as soon as possible to draft the relevant implementing legislation.
